NSAL President, Dorothy Lincoln-Smith visits our chapter

on Sat, 05/30/2015 - 14:21

What a weekend we had when our gracious NSAL President, Dorothy Lincoln-Smith, visited our chapter! Dorothy is a very special person and even includes scuba diving amongst her many accomplishments. Nancy Brockman hosted Dorothy and arranged a delightful informal evening with a delicious meal so that Dorothy could meet the chapter board members. Nancy entertained us by playing her harp, while Dorothy sang for us. The following day Pat and Ed Davis held a fund-raising event for all chapter members. It included a sumptuous dinner organized by Pat, while our chapter President, Corky Sablinsky, arranged a special concert featuring Elizabeth Brightbill, a local flutist, accompanied on the piano by Seung-Hye Kim. They performed two movements of the Mozart Flute Concerto, Seung-Hye then played Beethoven, Takemitsu and Chopin. A surprise encore of Brazilian music by Elizabeth and her husband, Andrew Gabbert, completed the performance. Elizabeth and Andrew are a noted duo by the name of "Terra Voce".
