Spring Meeting at Casa Maria

Members and friends met on a sunny spring afternoon at the delightful home of Cynthia Tremblay, “Casa Maria”. They were enthralled by three performances: the first was our chapter drama competition winner, Carolyn Demanelis, who performed a classical piece from Shakespeare's Cymbeline and a comedic piece from Women of Manhattan by John Patrick Shanley. She was presented with a check for $600 by Chapter President Corky Sablinsky and will represent us in the national finals in St. Louis, Missouri, at the end of May. Carolyn holds a B.A. degree in Film, Television & Theatre and a B.A. degree in Arabic from the University of Notre Dame. She is currently an MFA Acting Candidate in UVA's Department of Drama. Two of Bob Chapel’s UVA musical theatre students, Jacqueline Ford and Jayne Gallagher, then sang items from “Wonderful Town” and “Little Women”. The afternoon ended with a guided tour by Cynthia of some of the artworks in her gracious home.
