on Wed, 05/10/2017 - 18:02

Casa Maria in Greenwood, the elegant home of Cynthia Tremblay, was the venue for our Spring Serenade fundraiser. The program featured Kelly Sulick on the flute, Elizabeth Roberts on the bassoon and Content (Corky) Sablinsky was the pianist. They played an unusual repetoire of music for flute, bassoon and piano commencing with a trio by Beethoven, progressing to a duetto concertato on themes from Verdi and more modern pices by Bill Douglas and Chick Corea. The finale was Primavera Portena by Astor Piazolla.

Kelly teaches at UVA and serves as Principal Flute in the Charlottesville Symphony. Elizabeth, also from UVA, is Principal bassoon and Director of Youth Education for the Charlottesville Symphony. Corky, past President of our Chapter, is a retired teacher from the piano faculty at UVA and continues to teach privately at home.
